The Day Zero Experience

Hey there guys. We are all now connected through our love for survivor. Another new season brings us together for such an enjoying round of blindsides and challenges. The top 5 things that stuck out to me, are the following (in no order).

1. The Emotional Bond Between Loved-Ones. I had no idea the emotional attachment would affect the players of the game as much as it did. We all knew Colton wouldn't do well with it, as he didn't do well with finding out on OneWorld that he was on the tribe with dudes. We all knew that Rupert would have made that decision to take his wife's place any day of the week. I'm not sure if he thought things through tho. His wife is now instantly the target on the tribe. And she might be joining him on redemption island soon enough. And while I want to play the game for a million dollars, I too would have given up my spot on the tribe for my loved one, considering I have already played the game, I'd hope they'd get to enjoy the Survivor experience.

2. Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Gervase clearly wasn't prepared for this season of Survivor. It's been 13 years since he has played the game. He should have at least learned to swim, or worked on his cardio. And then after being the slow end of the totem pole, he had the nerve to gloat about winning? I know winning is fun, when your adrenaline is pumping and you are so stoked that you just pulled off an epic come from behind victory. But, show some class, considering your loved one is now at risk of going to Redemption Island. Not to mention, had you guys lost the challenge. They would have sent your ass to Redemption Island, because of your lack of physical strength.

3. Day One. This was a great addition to the season. Not only did it instill false hopes in the gullible castaways, it also allowed for a great job to be done by the editing team. Instead of going through randomly and hearing each person talk about themselves. We got to see a little side of everyone, before the show actually got going.

4. The immediate vote off of someone was great. So many hurt feelings. Candice felt betrayed, Rupert couldn't believe it. Candice, should have seen it coming. She was one of the mutineers from her original season. No one needs that kinda drama, floating around with the added effect of loved ones. It was great to watch, as no one had a plan, but everyone's votes were aligned. It was the easy vote for the loved ones. They all know who Rupert is and can be. No need for 3 seasons of survivor to rub off on his wife, to come bite them in the ass. But now it just might.

5. The 5 dude alliance. Culpepper is quite the arrogant ass. He not only shot himself in the foot within the first 5 minutes, but he can't do math. It took him forever to put together that 5 vs 4 line. While it is correct, most people can tell he is SUPER full of himself. Which is great for everyone else.

I think this season already looks like a great season. Winning a challenge means watching your loved ones get voted off. There are sooo many possibilites and I can't believe no one looked for the idol. I can't wait to see next weeks. Old Colton is back!
